Anything Knitted and Crocheted

Welcome to my blog. I hope to blog about my knitting and crocheting as well as everyday life. The patterns that I post are original and as such there is copyright on them. When they are based on another pattern there is a link to the pattern.

My husband and I adopted a beautiful dog named Leo. He is a dachshund and absolutely adorable! we adopted him on June 23, 2010 and he has become the love of our lives.

I love to share patterns that I find along the way or to talk about some of the neatest designers that are out there today, so I love to post links to the designs or the designers.

So grab a cup a and sit and enjoy the blog.

Alberta has a new landscape this morning...

Alberta Progressive Conservative party leadership winner Alison Redford waves to supporters following the results of the leadership race in Edmonton, Oct. 2, 2011.

What an interesting couple of months, there have been two leadership races, one for the Liberals and one for the PC. Dr. Raj Sherman won the Liberal leadership race and as a surprise Alison Redford won the PC race lastnight. Alison is now the Premier Designate. Congratulations Ms. Redford, now lets see what you can do.

What we need to work on now is:

  • Health Care
  • Education
  • Oil Sands Sustainability
  • Oil and Gas Royalties (We receive the lowest royalties ever. If Sara Palin can royalties raised why can't we?)
  • Helping municipalities to build and maintain infrastructure (hopefully NOT funding a downtown arena in Edmonton)
  • Affordable Housing issues
I think what I am hearing about having an election within a year is good, at least it won't be during the municipal elections. I do agree we need a budget and throne speech in place to know where Alberta is headed. The next 30 days to be focused on education which should help all the school boards across the province.

I for one will be watching to see what happens next, so exciting that we have our first woman premier!
