I first came across this post after hearing about the controversy on Global Edmonton News. I am Funny Like That!: There's nothing funny about this blog, as a matter...: Nothing gets me more excited than finding the Sears Wish Book in my mailbox. We are over sexualizing our girls...its crazy! Women can chose these products and wear the Playboy apparel with pride. Our girls need to look to us for that support. What does it say about us that we are accepting this as "normal" for our children.
We already have issues with young girls wearing clothing that would be considered "skanky" on a adult. Have we gone to far? Is it acceptable to encourage our girls to look towards Playboy as the end all or be all? What happened to having a girl president? What happened to women being smart, capable women being the role models?
