Anything Knitted and Crocheted

Welcome to my blog. I hope to blog about my knitting and crocheting as well as everyday life. The patterns that I post are original and as such there is copyright on them. When they are based on another pattern there is a link to the pattern.

My husband and I adopted a beautiful dog named Leo. He is a dachshund and absolutely adorable! we adopted him on June 23, 2010 and he has become the love of our lives.

I love to share patterns that I find along the way or to talk about some of the neatest designers that are out there today, so I love to post links to the designs or the designers.

So grab a cup a and sit and enjoy the blog.

I came across this interesting article on Facebook....

Edmonton Journal Should Edmonton drivers be more aware of their surroundings?

www.edmontonjournal.com
An impaired driving investigation is underway after a fatal accident in which a man was hit by a pickup truck in north Edmonton and dragged under the vehicle for 27 blocks.
My answer:
In a way it doesn't surprise me. Road conditions were scary on Saturday. In fact we had picked up a friend earlier in the day from that exact area. It was a nightmare as we drove along. People were yapping on cell phones completely unaware of where they were.

Friday night was just as bad! We drove a friend to Bonnie Doon area and then we were on our way to drop another friend off in the Delton area and then home (Alberta Ave.). On 95 st there was a guy driving very erratically. possibly under the influence and was on a cell phone. We normally would follow and call it in but out passenger was very skittish.

As for the question, yes drivers should be more aware however having said that most aren't. As we get linked to more technology we are disconnected from those around us. I remember my 25th graduating class theme: It was the Best of Times; It was the Worst of times; and we are smack dab in the middle of it.
Let me know what you think...

Bruce's Fingerless Gloves...

Well I finally got them finished.  I crocheted the New Moon Fingerless Gloves, which I found on Ravelry. Her Pattern was a lot longer than mine.  I crocheted the 4 rounds of post stitches that make the ribbing, then I crocheted 4" of hdc before crocheting the thumb area.  Bruce also wanted his with separate finger holes, so I crocheted those.  They were worked over 3 stitches on each side, with a chain 2 to connect the finger holes. He tried them on and wore them, saying that his typing is much better and his knuckles don't hurt as much.  I am so glad the he loves them.  Here are some pictures.  I used Bernat Glow in the Dark yarn which has been discontinued and paired it with Schoppel-Wolle Crazy Zauberball as the Bernat yarn is a thinner yarn than a typical worsted weight yarn.  All in all I am pleased with how they turned out.
